Although the Electrical Engineering Study Program is one of the most demanding programs offered by the University, there is great interest in enrollment because students find employment soon after they complete their studies. The basic objective of this Study Program is to train engineers to design, build, test, service and maintain power equipment, plants and processes.
To ensure that the Study Program remains effective, current and attractive, it is constantly updated and modified with new and current courses, with prominent real-world experts being responsible for the technical component of each course. The Department of Electrical Engineering has traditionally maintained good relationships with relevant companies in the industry that participate in the training process at the University and are actively seeking young talents and good employees.
The duration of the Professional Electrical Engineering Bachelor Program is three (3) academic years over six (6) semesters. On completion of this study program, the student will have earned 180 ECTS points and will be awarded the degree of a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with essential knowledge during the first year of the program by attending common basic courses and then choose between three specialties in the second year:
Power Engineering
Automation and Process Computing
Communication and Computer Engineering
Each specialty will provide them with the following additional knowledge and skills:
AiPR:
Analyze and test static and dynamic properties of technical process elements to formulate a mathematical description of the controlling properties.
Select equipment for setting up systems to manage, control and supervise technical processes of power conversion, fluid storage and transport of materials and persons and thermal processes.
Apply control models for analysis and synthesis purposes to achieve the intended process control indicators.
Set up management and control algorithms based on analyzing the actions of simpler processes.
Develop management and control software by using process controls.
EE:
Understanding the operating principles electrical rotational systems, transformers, transmission lines and switching devices.
Analyze mechanical, voltage and current stress in power plant components.
Apply models of power plant elements to determine current and voltage states in normal operating conditions and in case of short circuit.
Select rotational machines for electromechanical power conversion.
Select transformers, aboveground lines and switching devices for electricity transmission and distribution.
KiRT:
Develop or participate in the development of software solutions for telecommunication facilities, networks or systems.
Organize and supervise effective project implementation to achieve desired functionality of telecommunication facilities, networks or systems.
Formulate technical requirements for interventions on a telecommunication facility, network or system to align its functionality with customer standards and requirements.
Develop and implement embedded systems and related software and hardware.
Develop, implement and support systems to monitor computer-operated processes.

The basic purpose of the Study Program is to train engineers to design, build, test, service and maintain power equipment, plants and processes.
Over the years, we have developed and equipped numerous laboratories, which significantly raises the quality of the practical classes, allowing students to demonstrate their skills and talents almost on a daily basis.
This Study Program has traditionally been in great demand because, on completion of the program, students soon find employment in organizations such as Hrvatska elektroprivreda, KONČAR, ABB, SIEMENS and various design firms.
The curriculum is exactly the same for full-time and part-time study.
Zagreb University of Applied Sciences enrolls full-time or part-time students in all its undergraduate professional studies exclusively through the National System for Enrollment in Higher Education Institutions. All information on enrollment conditions and quotas can be found at www.postani-student.hr.
