The essential outcomes of this study program derive from demand for competences and hands-on skills such as creativity, initiative, understanding risk, and sense of responsibility and teamwork, including different professional competences to be provided by each specialty.
The courses of this professional study program are based on predefined specific specialty modules, offering students different specializations on completion of this study program.
Mechatronics & Robotics Module – on completion of this Module, the student will be able to:
• propose the structure of a standard controller or a state-space controller and estimate the controller parameters according to predefined requirements, to be deployed in automated management systems in continuous or digital domain;
• solve problems in the area of production automation by using his/her knowledge of flexible production systems and industrial and mobile robotics;
• solve problems in the area of plant or process automation, including proposing of sensors and actuators;
• program embedded computing systems using a higher-level programming language; and
• analyze problems in Computer Vision including identifying Computer Vision algorithms and adapting and deploying them to specific problems.
Ecotechnology Modul – on completion of this Module, the student will be able to:
• combine additional procedures to make prototypes and apply reverse engineering to promote product development;
• propose an appropriate type of renewable energy source technology for effective use;
• provide appropriate technical solutions for biological and thermal waste treatment;
• select engineering approaches to be used in technological, constructional and mechanical designing of biological, chemical and physical wastewater treatment processes;
• propose measures for the treatment of waste gases, including understanding the problem and how to solve the issue of air pollution;
• propose essential measures to prevent environmental degradation and reduction of adverse environmental impacts;
• combine basic principles of different systems generating power from biomass and suitable types of biomass depending on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and
• formulate environmental requirements for an automated plant management system and processes.
Industrial Management Module – on completion of this Module, the student will be able to:
• propose an alternative (optimal) solution to real-life business and technical problems;
• propose such types and variants of sustainable systems that preserve energy and natural resources and ensure that employees remain safe and healthy, including such products;
• combine additional procedures to make prototypes and apply reverse engineering to promote product development;
• assess the operational efficiency of processes by eliminating specific losses;
• recommend procedures to develop and launch new products; and
• manage resources and services to help achieve strategic objectives of an organization.
